Maybe you need to recalibrate the "easy" setting on your puzzle meter! ;-)

Look at the previous hint and think of non-harmonically related. (at least on a first level) The three is a hint.

Write it out as a matrix. 3 numbers to a row. Look for a pattern in the columns.

Okay. I'm not going to slap my forehead on that one! In fact, I stand by my suggestion that Dan get the "easy" setting on his puzzle meter recalibrated! ;-)

I guess it is all in the eyes of the beholder. Some of the ones that are obvious to you are totally out of it for me and maybe vice versa. ;-) I think it sometimes also just depends on the day. Seems like I can sometimes get stuff right away, and other times nothing comes at all then like you said---slap the forehead. I did make this one a bit more difficult by at first asking only for one number.

Oh, well, you will probably nail me on the next one ;-)

That's certainly true. And even ones I have posted have been hard to predict how "hard" they were. Ones that I found incredibly difficult (the carpet in the 9x12 room, and to a lesser degree the escalator) were solved by lots of people here in short order, and ones I found pretty straight-forward, like the betting on the world series, proved to be a stumper. And they'd probably be vice-versa for me if I got them on a different day!
