The Greek root "Iso" means same (as in isomorphic). "Ptera" means wings (as in Pterodactyl). And of course "Phobia" means fear.

Those suffering from Isopterophobia refuse to fly in planes with wings of the same size.

This was an occupational hazard of the pharohs. It is the extreme fear of pyramids. (fear of triangles on the earth,)

Since ISO is the international standards organization, isopterophobia of course means the fear of internationally standardized flying dinosaurs. I know they scare me.

First part "Is" and well, that depends on what the meaning of the word "Is" is. Then "op" as in opthamalogy...so seeing. The "tero" as in tero firma. So I'd say it is fear of seeing the ground?

It's an irrational fear of Isopterus the cyclops (Is=same or single, opter=vision, hence single vision)

I am sure that most, if not all of you know that this is a fear of termites (the wood connection ;-)) I figured that this crowd could come up with some interesting answers to it. Love the logic used. Thanks for playing.
