There are 5 shops in 5 different colors. In each shop works a person with a different specialty. The 5 shop owners drink a certain type of beverage, use a certain brand of finish, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, use the same brand of finish, or drink the same beverage.
Somebody owns a fish. The question is: who?

* The green shop is on the left and next to the white shop.
* The green shop owner drinks coffee.
* The person who uses minwax rears birds.
* The owner of the yellow shop uses Tried and True.
* The man living in the center shop drinks milk.
* The carver works in the first shop.
* The man who uses Zinser works next to the one who keeps cats.
* The man who keeps the horse works next to the man who uses Tried and True.
* The owner who uses Bartley drinks beer.
* The marquetry expert uses Waterlox.
* The carver works next to the blue shop.
* The man who uses Zinsser has a neighbor who drinks water.
BTW, I assume the 4th clue should read "The green shop is TO the left of and next to the white shop." Otherwise, "ON the left" might be interpreted as being the leftmost (1st) shop in the row of five which can't be since the carver works in the 1st shop and he works next to the BLUE shop, not the white. Of course, all this assumes the western convention of numbering from left to right and that the shops are arranged in a line instead of a circle. But in that case, what gives the carver the right to claim being first?
And doesn't the turner know Mylands is a better product? Is his brain fried from working in a red shop?
