Tuesday puzzle

Here is a puzzle for this week.

The Postman delivers the mail in the small village named JustTen. This village has one street with exactly 10 houses, numbered 1 to 10. In a certain week, He did not deliver any mail to two of the houses in the village. At the other houses, he delivered mail three times each. Each working day, he delivered mail at exactly 4 houses.

The sums of the house numbers where he delivered mail were:

Monday-----18

Tuesday----12

Wednesday--23

Thursday---19

Friday-----32

Saturday---25

Sunday, obviously no mail is delivered on Sundays.

Which two houses did not get any mail that week?

Re: Tuesday puzzle

4 and 8

Sum 1-10 = 55

Sum of deliveries = 129

Since 3 per house, sum of house numbers getting deliveries = 43

So sum of house numbers not getting deliveries is 12

Only ways to get Tuesday's total of 12 are 1,2,3,6 and 1,2,4,5

Only ways to get Friday's deliveries of 32 are 6,7,9,10 and 5,8,9,10

Since 9 gets deliveries, so does 3

At this point, we know that 1,2,3,9, and 10 get deliveries.

The only possible pairs totaling 12 are 4,8 and 5,7.

But from Friday's deliveries, we know that either 5 or 7 must get deliveries, leaving 4 and 8 as the only possibilities.

I'll take your word for it that the totals on the other days are possible.
