Tuesday puzzle

One for Tuesday ;-)

Gary and three of his friends decided to plant a new tree in their yard to celebrate Arbor Day. The new trees would each be put in a different area of their yards. As it happened each friend bought a different kind of tree and planted the new tree on a different day of the week. From the clues below, determine the full names of each friend, what kind of tree each bought, where in the yard it was planted, and on what day of the week each tree was planted.

1. Bill, whose last name wasnt Carpenter, didnt plant his spruce tree by the patio.

2. Thomas planted his tree before Mr. Wainright but after the man who planted the ash tree.

3. Mr. Cooper, whose first name wasnt Gary, planted his tree in the front yard, but not on Friday.

4. John didnt plant his tree on Monday.

5. Mr. Smith planted his tree before the man who planted his tree in the back yard. John didnt plant the cherry tree.

6. The trees were planted, in chronological order, as follows: Mr. Carpenter, in the garden, Bill, the maple tree.

Clarification

Does day of the week mean that there are no weekend days? Since there are too few weekdays for the number of people, do Tuesday/Wednesday put together and Wednesday/Thursday put together make a difference? I know that there is a need to distinguish between the two sets but only in the sense that one person planted before the other person. Monday and Friday are for sure if no weekend days. AND Bill has planted the Spruce.

Re: Clarification

Weekdays only. Also, I had a brain fade last night and accidentally posted this on the hand tool board and someone solved it in 3 minutes;-) Don't look there if you want to try it yourself because the answer is posted.

(Something is wrong with my editing facility for the boards so I couldn't fix it yet;-))
