Great question from Thomas. Here is an easy one for you that is not exactly woodworking, but I found interesting.
It comes from a tropical American species of orchid, one of the few that produces anything edible. Its flower only lasts one day, and if not pollinated, doesn't bloom for another year. If it is pollinated (usually by hand), it develops a pod that takes about 9 months to reach maturity.
I am sure that everyone here has had the product that results from processing this pod. What is it?
