Humpday Triviola
I should have called in sick today. The weather here in Mount Level is fantastic! But since I am cooped up in front of this infernal computer I might as well toss out some triviola....
The year was 1933. The place was Blaine Washington. What happened that might be relevant to this forum?

Must admit I googled, so I will not post the answer. However, I got many more references to the repeal of prohibition in 1933. The re-legalization of alcohol is called the Blaine Act, so I found that where there was any reference to WA. Just my 5 cents worth.

Wish I could stretch this one out for a few more to answer but I'm logging off early today so I'll go ahead and give kudos to Lynn.
In 1933 the bank is Blaine Washington failed. As a result the town created and circulated the first wooden nickels in the United States.
