Link these at least partly wooden items into a single category. Screw - Saw - Fork - Pear - Cradle - Wheel - Boot

Re: Monday answer

Tommy is DEAD on. A hefty Gold star for the forehead. Be careful what it's attached to, how hard you push, and if it's hot or cold. To Dale I'd be interested to see where you were going. For now, not unless you meant screaming your lungs out in any language you desire.

All of the innocuous named items are instruments of torture. This was set off after watching Justice Scalia (talking about punishment) on 60 Minutes, followed by the Tutors on Showtime learning about some of Henry VIII's persuasions. I thought I would research the methods used to acquire information and loyalty under auspices of the Church of England. It seems that once in the custody of the State you were pretty much done for. In other instances, with the Spanish inquisition it appears that the Catholic masters developed an assembly line and were as ruthless in gaining obedience and confessions as any third world (or first world) country of today. The idea back then wasn't much different in methodology of controlling mind using mental abuse and physical discomfort. They were not unique. Eastern Europe and the Mid-East and Far East taught their lessons without regard to what we today refer to cruel and unusual.

Seriously, about five items or so in I began to feel guilty even looking through these devices. They are painful to look at, yet compelling to see what man has invented in the hope of discovering truth and restoring order.

If you can endure, find them and more at www.occasionalhell.com - infernal device, on your browser. You won't find the saw there but you can pretty much know where that is going. Look up saw and torture on the browser if so inclined.

Re: Where WAS I going...

I'll never tell, unless you torure me. Think I'd take a 12 gauge to my head. Man can be cruel!
