Springtime at Mount Level...Triviola
So European sailors, when sailing around the Seychelles would see these things floating in the water. At first they assumed they came from the sea. Later they discovered they came from land...and from only two islands. They have a name that is derived from the Greek word for "Beautiful Rump". What are they? And why are they noteworthy?

What they saw was the bottom or, back sides of mermaids.

It gets lonely out there. Sort of a tale like a Mer maid. The lads spread the story that they came from a huge tree at the bottom of the sea. They are booomba sized.

Add another Golden Uni to Gary's impressive collection for getting today's trivia.
The answer is about the world's largest tree seeds. The Coco de Mer tree is a palm family tree found only on two islands of the Seychelles. It produces an essentially double coconut that weighs about 24 lbs.
The dry seeds would wash off the beach into the sea and sailors would spot them and think they were grown beneath the surface as they were so unusual to them.
