I'm not tellin' but there's a great exhibition of his work just finishing up right now at the Peabody Essex Museum. I just love his fireplace surrounds. as an additional himt, the PEM hired Phil Lowe to interpret and do demos on his work.

I had a feeling you'd get it. My sister in Lebanon NH just saw that show.
The answer is Samuel McIntire 1751-1811. Both a master of Federal architecture and of carving/furniture.
