Thursday Trivia

The nation's first sawmill was built near the first incorporated city. What is the city and state?

Re: Thursday Trivia

I did a web search and found the answer.

I'm not going to devulge it because I always feel that these things should be answered by people who already know the answer.

I was interested to see all the "firsts" that turned up. It's a positive mania! Every city wants to be first somehow.

First incorporated city west of the mississipi, first west of the rockies, first in california, first south of the mason dixon line, etc.

It's as crazy as sports statistics.

Re: On second thought...

North of NY and first Inc. city, I'd think one of the 13 O.C.- New Hampshire?

Re: Thursday Trivia

Hmmm how about Plymouth? Not sure of the sawmill but I think they were first to brew beer or was that they brewed beer first and then got about the other things? Oh now I remember, they ran out of beer on the boat and stopped to brew some more. Guess they should have a Canadian along. (see other discussion on message board)
