Thursday Trivia

What is the name of this type of building? There were once thousands of them, but today there are only about 30 left. They are some of the oldest surviving wooden buildings.

Hint: The name is related to the way it is constructed.

I would like to answer...

but I'm staving off the lions here...

I know this one because of EPCOT's Norway pavilion. Who said Disney wasn't educational!

Re: That's.....

one of the neatest wooden structures I've seen in a long time. Are all the graves from the people that tried to shingle the building, : ' >? How in the world would you replace a few shingles? It would take thousands of dollars in safety gear/equipment to work on that roof.

Thanks for the question

Just in case

Just in case you can't get it from the answer given, it is a "stave church". There is interesting info on google about them.

Next time you're in Orlando

Disney actually built one in EPCOT's Norway Pavilion. I had probably walked past it 30 times before I realized that you could actually go inside. It's pretty neat to check out.
