Thursday trivia

Easy one today. Two parts, can you answer without Google?

1) What is a temperate rainforest?

2) Where is one located? (really easy for some ;-))

Re: Thursday trivia

What a cool question. As fir as I know the biggest one is about 1-1/2 hours away from where I live.

I wont give away the answer now because I do not want to go to the box.

Re: Thursday trivia

Oh boy! A question even I can answer! A temperate rain forest is one that doesn't drink too much alcohol, but that does get lots and lots of rain. As to the second part, all I can say of the one 300 mile NW of here is Hoh, Hoh, Hoh (as in the river valley). A question of truly Olympic proportions, I might add.

Cheers!

seems I almost live in one

Seems I almost live in one, as our average temp is about 60 and not a constant 60. We do get the temp up into the 90s a few times a year.... but the rain, now that we have! In a dry year it's about 60 inches. hmm wonder if it has to rain all year around or if our dry summers also disqualifies us.

Re: Dan, a question for you

Not for awhile at least. I was just in Utah for a couple of days for a get together for my Mother. We got all of the kids except one there for the event. First time in over 20 years that so many have been in one place at a time.

I have a son that is in the Coast Guard, stationed in Seattle, so we may get out to visit him in the next year or so. It is beautiful out there.

Got one more... Pysht

My sweetie, who grew up on the North edge of the aforementioned Rainforest, reminded of that town. Almost a prophetic name.
