I've been the one doing the head scratching...trying to think up a question for today. Looks like it's gonna be one of those low brain wave days for me. On to the question....

These appeared around the first century and were used for olive oil and wine presses. What are they?

Hint for the others....

they started out made of wood. Now they are metal....well, except in things like work benches.
