Thursday Trivia

Here is an easy one for you. Th attached picture is of a tool that is not for working wood, but is used by someone that does to make an accessory for the wooden item he makes. Three questions:

1) What is the tool called?

2) What material is it used with?

3) What kind of woodworker would need one of these? (at least two possible answers.)

Re: Thursday Trivia

A tool like it used in a drill press is called a fly cutter. Because it is hand operated I would think it is used to cut circles in a flexible material, such as leather, cork, or gasket material. Looks like it might be used by someone who makes wooden tables lamps to be applied to the bottom of the lamp.
