OK, I go off on so many tangents

I ought to better understand trigonometry (and/or plane geometry). My intent was to call attention only to the year of patent--1932. That year LA hosted the Olympics, the Cubs lost the World Series 0-4 to the Yankees, Edwin Land formed the Land-Wheelright Laboratory, the pre cursor company which eventually became Polariod, and the Lindbergh baby was taken from his home on March 1, 1932. I was only going after the year, but since the question is still live I also believe it to be a fruit tree which is ______ keen. In my answer, the patent holder's last name (which I confess I did do a sesarch for) starts with an "M". Of course, all of this is useless if I'm wrong-again.
