Humpday Triviola
This furniture was built to be strong enough to withstand earthquakes. It was utilitarian and generally meant to be portable. Common woods used to make it are pawlonia, chestnut or cypress.
What am I referring to?

Originally they had wheels on them but the wheels were later banned as they tended to block roads when people tried to leave during emergencies. (narrow streets.)
