Thursday Trivia
Another picture question:
What is this called? What is it used for?
PS
I am sure that Dale knows ;-)
Re: Thursday Trivia
I better brush up on my equipment knowledge before I make a clear answer.
Re: Thursday Trivia
It looks like a Rotary Disc Mulcher which is used to "process" forest undergrowth into mulch thereby clearing the forest floor for fire prevention.
Re: Thursday Trivia
A really big weed eater!
DeWalt Angle Grinder
I have one. It's the same as the smaller DeWalt angle grinders but just does the job faster....much fatster.

Re: Thursday Trivia
I will co-op..erate with the DB's brush answer right of way.
Re: Thursday Trivia
Actually, I'm not sure. If I had to WAG: stump grinder of some sort?? Keep your $ and only bet on sure things, : ' >..Dale
Re: I'd guess feller/bunher but
the buncher doesn't look quite what I'd expect. They're used for cutting small things like pulpwood and brush I think. But I'm thinking the buncher part should be like a claw and be a little higher. In other words, I don't know what it is.
Answer
If I read it right, It would appear that DB knows. The answer is "masticator", as in chewing. It is used, as mentioned, for chewing up brush and stumps to clear ground. I thought of this when I was reading the thread about chainsaw carvers, and weedeaters with chains instead of string.
