OK I googled

Back in the '80s, you could often see his namesake suction-cupped to the windshields of cars.

But who was the last Vice President to be born in a log cabin?

A different question

It might be an interesting question to find out the first president not born at home (log cabin or otherwise) ie. in a hospital. Don't know the answer to this one, and I will also concede the posibility there hasn't been one.

I actually know that one.....

For some odd reason I happen to know that Jimmy Carter was the first president born in a hospital. I would have guessed Kennedy.

James Abram, I would presume.

Maybe. But I do know the first one.

Andrew Jackson, raised right up the road from here in the Waxhaws of S.C..

Yeah, I know, there's been a fuss going on about where he was born but he himself said S.C..

....and that other 'cat' maybe the last for right now. But with the boom in loghouses I've seen, he may not be the last forever.

Answer

James Garfield was born in 1831 and was the last president born in a log cabin. For what it is worth he was the first president to use a telephone.
