Thursday Trivia

We have all seen the Windmills (or at least pictures of them) in Holland. Nearly all of the windmills in the world have something in common, except for those of one country. What is the country and what is different? (Just don't ask me why ;-))

Re: A hint

Sounds like the vanes are pitched so as to cause them to turn in the opposite direction (counterclockwise)?

On the track ;-) (answer)

For some reason, all windmills turn counterclockwise except those in Ireland, which turn clockwise.

Or the Persian style which rotate on a vertical axis. There doesn't seem to be any convention for direction on those.
