Sunday came to soon.

According to Tools of the Trade what is the number of pounds a typical new home weighs?

Yes I know this now is stretching woodworking a little since a lot of new homes have very little solid wood anymore.

Re: Sunday came to soon.

Using Dan information of 20,000 bd. ft. x 2.5 lbs/bd.ft, softwoods x 3 for general pull out of the air comes to 150,000 lbs.

Thanks for the Sunday extra,

Dale

The number

It's in the hundrits of thousands of pounds. Take the number that's "bad luck on a match"--that's the hundred thousand number. Put another next to it--that's ten thousand number, then and multiply the two together and you get the thousand number, add a comma, and a zippo, null, and goose egg and that's it. I'm wondrin though, unless it completely prefab or you're going to move it, why would home builders care?

The answer

Gary is correct at 330,000 pounds. If you divide that number by 10,000 then you get the number of home depot employees on the U.S. Winter Olympic Team.

I saw that.

Besides put on an apron and smile in front of a camera for the commercial, I wonder just how much those athletes do working for Home Depot? Do any of them actually have to show for work or maybe they shake hands at a store? I believe in sport, but this sounds like another scam to hide amateur "gift" income to me. How many U.S. athletes were on the winter team anyway? 330?
