This type of house was the most popular style in the American south from just after the Civil War ended until sometime in the 1920s. Characteristics included a narrow and deep one room wide rectangular floorplan with no halls, and three to four rooms that all connected directly to each other. What was it called?
The story goes that you could stick a shotgun in the front door, pull the trigger and all of the pellets would come out of the back door. I lived in a couple until I was in my 20's.
Did you have to show such a horrible example??? That poor house has been so terribly "re-muddled". That door and Lord.....those windows! What a travesty!
Speaking of shotguns....whoever changed that classic little house should be shot themselves!
