Two Hour Delay Monday

Try this word square so that identical words read across and down. There are several answers. The words aren't wood related I just started with pine.

Is there such a word as "neve"?

Couldn't find it in my dictionary. If so, that solves a problem for me.

Well, when I preview it, it doesn't line up the same way as when I type it on my screen....

yep

Neve is a high mountain granular snow, the kind that gets compacted into glaciers. It's pronounced nay vay. It should have accent marks over the e's. You might find it named in some dictionaries as "firn".

Dictionaries with neve in are Random House unabridged, The New Century, and American Heritage. Of course, the OED should have it too.

Try this:

P I N E

I T E M

N E V E

E M E R

I did it by enclosing the text in a preformatted text tag like this:

< pre >

P I N E

I T E M

N E V E

E M E R
