Friday Filler
I am thinking of a very famous piece of wood. Perhaps the most famous piece of poplar in the world.
This object originated in Italy approximately 500 years ago. It has been exhibited around the world. It was hidden from the Nazi's in WWII. It has been stolen and returned. It has been insured for 100 million dollars - although some estimate its current value at more than 1/2 billion dollars.
Earlier this year, this object was moved to a new home - in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Johnny Mathis might know?

I heard that one side has a bunch of old layers of paint in many colors. Maybe we could get some stripper and clean it up so they could see the true beauty of the wood.

Growing up with the 8-tracks
I gre up listening to The Platter, Mathis, and apparently Nat King Cole :-) on the 8 track player in the kitchen in the 70's. The Platters stuck with me, Mathis so-so, and NKC not so much.
But I'm only 39, so I'll claim ignorance.

Still got some 8-tracks and a player...LOL
My 10 year old son found them last year and thought they were movies...LOL They hadn't been played in, I guess 30 years. He started playing them, some tore up and a few held out. He loves the Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves and Johnny Horton tapes.
He also likes but to a slightly lessor degree The Drifters, The Coasters, The Platters, The Tams and a few others that I can't remember at the moment.
I guess I should start hunting some CD's or DVD's of those great old songs for him. Keep him off the Rap as long as I can.
