Thursday Trivia

Not exactly a woodworking tool, at least in its original form, but it would be a fair guess that most of the people on Woodcentral have one. It was invented in the early 1920's by a blacksmith and a much needed refinement was added in the 1950's. There are now several variations on the original that are used for woodworking. Based on the parent company that owns the manufacturer, you might think you could buy one at a party, but that is not necessary. What is this tool?

Re: Thursday Trivia

I'm trying to come to grips with this question. A guy named Peterson comes to mind though.
