If 'apical' comes from the same Latin root as apiary, I might be getting a buzz. Or, not.

That's a word they use in tree id, never have looked it up to see what it is, or if I did it's been many moons ago. I think they are talking about bud shapes so I will guess an inverted cone, kinda like the letter " A" .
