You are angry at the wrong building

Cute, but too cute.  It uses diversion as a vial.  DC's can be built to be largely environmentally neutral through existing technology such as Co-Generation, and geologic heat exchange.  Waste heat can also run on-site closed loop steam generation.  Coupled with solar these places could become functioning "clean energy" generators with the excess power fed into the grid rather than sucking electrons from peoples' toaster ovens.
