Stanley's double-sided double-cross?

I read an article about this.  The author mentioned the reasoning about the double sided tape's popularity and the impossibility of making it in the New Britain.  Author didn't seem to buy either point.  Sounded more like stuff is just cheaper to make overseas, as we all know it is and has been for decades.
