Tormek 2000 upgrade

#1

Wow !!  WoodCentral sure has changed. Been quite a while since I last posted. As I get back into wood turning after a LOOOONG hiatus of not doing any woodworking, I'm finding that I want to make some upgrades to some of my equipment.
Does anyone know of a CBN wheel or the similar that will work on an older Tormek slow speed grinder?  I currently own the old 2000 "green machine." I have a #250 wheel that I replaced a few years ago but many fellow woodworkers say the CBN "diamond" wheels are far superior.  Before I plunk down a few hundred smackers for a new wheel, I want to make sure I have the right one, size, bore, etc.  The wheel will most likely be used for grinds on my lathe tools but I was hoping to use it on kitchen knives as well.  Buying a new Tormek machine is out of the question. Lordy those things have gotten ridiculously expensive.
Sincerely, Ray
p.s. It's good to be back !!

I got one off Amazon (not a Tormek). All dimensions (wheel width, wheel diameter and arbor hole size) are listed in the product information so you'll have to know all your wheel requirements before ordering. You may have success if you do a search for "diamond wheels for tormek 2000".

Guess I could have mentioned that. I settled on a 6" wheel that was less than a hundred after being shocked by the price of the 8" and 10" versions.
