New Year New Tool

#1

My venerable Makita LS 12-11 finally hemorrhaged internally; switch quit and the gearbox disintegrated so the blade wanted to uninstall itself by spinning the arbor bolt out.  Saw's been a great performer for upwards of 25 years cutting dead-nuts accurate in hard woods from rock maple to hickory to cherry to walnut up the16/4 and hairline miters.

Ordered a Dewalt 780 on advice from a  builder I know.  Double miter at 60/50* plus cross-cut slider to 14" at 90*.  Sorry to see the Makita go, but I'm keeping the Jesada 90-tooth full kerf blade.

Anyone have opposing comments?

Have you got it and used it yet?

got it.  Opted for the "shadow" cutting guide rather than the laser as there no adjustment needed.
Handles very well.  After 20 years my Jesada full kerf fine cut (90 teeth) blade is due for a sharpening.  Until the Jesaadat gets done, the stock Dewalt blade on the saw does a good job.
Only thing that needs improvement is the left side work clamp that  doesn't sit and` turn down very well.
All-in-all, a good tool.
