I offered him a moth but he just screams.

That was very kind of you, but apparently you scared him away. Perhaps he will return next Halloween to haunt the hallowed halls of WoodCentral. 
totally unintentionally hit the bat on the phone screen several days ago when it first appeared (or early morning?). Whatever it was, lucky the cat wasn't in the room!
Reminds me of a few crooked brain uncles of mine who made a similar noise every time they could creep up behind kids.
