A recent comment popped up on this old article: https://www.woodcentral.com/articles/boice_crane.php

It looks like Boice Crane used to make industrial equipment—some of it woodworking-related—but they’ve been out of business for a long time. A few of their machines have found new life in hobby shops, though parts can be tough to come by.

I tried digging up more information, but most of what’s out there is from old message boards and dates back nearly 20 years. Doesn’t seem like there’s been much new discussion since then.

Sometimes old industrial equipment can be had for free and kept going with non-OEM parts. Sometimes it's just scrap metal. Any opinions?

After I quit machine shop work with cnc stuff I kept my first lathe that I bought for about $50.00 .It was world war 2 surplus. It still runs fine and cuts good threads

My first bench/table saw was a Boice Crane 10” saw purchased new  from Woodcraft Supply in 1962. Later on I had a 12 inch BC thickness planer and a stroke sander. They were well made heavy duty machines. Served me well, no complaints

I prefer the Frasier and Niles sub brands.

I am not familiar with Fraser and or Niles. I was unable to find out anything about either or both by doing an internet search.

It was a David joke - a play on Crane :D  Took me a while too, but my ex was a fan of Fraiser so I got it eventually.
