All non-forum content from the original site, including Shop Shots, Russ's Corner, Tales from Grandpa Augustus, Splendid Splinters, Badger Pond posts, Bob Smalser articles, and thousands of reviews and summaries previously listed as "articles," is now consolidated in our Archive:

This content is fully searchable from a single interface. Select the desired category or categories and enter optional search terms to refine your results. This archive is one of WoodCentral's most valuable assets, but without robust search functionality, new visitors won't spend hours navigating to find answers. A strong search capability is essential, and all pages must be mobile-friendly, as approximately 90% of new visitors use mobile devices rather than PCs. Non-mobile-friendly pages are no longer indexed by major search engines (Google ceased doing so around 2019 after years of developer warnings), and users encountering such pages typically leave immediately, resulting in a 100% bounce rate due to poor readability.

The conversion of these pages isn't flawless. I didn’t manually edit the hundreds of thousands of pages, including old forum posts, to meet current HTML standards. When I sought quotes to outsource this, estimates exceeded $100,000, which wasn’t feasible. So, I wrote code to parse and update the content to comply with modern standards.

This process is challenging and likely impossible to perfect. However, it’s a starting point, and I estimate 90% of the pages are functional. We can’t review every page individually, so feedback on pages needing edits is greatly appreciated. Every page now supports comments, making it simple to flag issues—just post “Needs editing” or a similar note.

Thanks! :)
