Hi,
Years ago I made a twin cabinet. When designing the miniature drawers inside I made a serious mistake and the cabinet has to be hung upside down. In the beginning I thought it was ok but every time I looked at it felt just wrong. Finally I gained enough courage to redesign the drawers to the initial idea:

I made a small discovery. When sanding the ebony handles the lighter ash gets ebony dust so it looks dirty. The Mirka Abranet is porous and seems to handle the task much better.

Re: Cabinet revisited
#2Hello Svante, I always enjoy seeing the projects you've made. Your design sense is refreshingly different from mine, which is more ordinary and based on making a functional piece in a straightforward way that looks good enough that it won't be considered ugly. Not a very high aspiration, I admit.
The twin cabinet is both fun to look at and subtly sophisticated. I like the way you've lined up horizontal elements to unify the look. I also like the open back and how the spaces between the interior fittings create interesting shapes.
Thanks for posting this.
