Making a few Christmas gifts.

#1

I get in trouble if I don't make my kids a Christmas gift.  I can buy them something, but they always say where is the hand made.  So this year I did little cutting boards, my first chevron board (it is not glued up and finished in this picture), and a chip and dip holder.  There is a Makers Space about a mile from me that has laser engravers I can use.  I will be engraving the small boards with their names, and engraving my name on the bottom side with the date.  What is everyone making for Christmas this year?

This year my wife (and I) get the focus of my woodworking.  I am in the midst of building a vanity for our bathroom remodel - 4/6 drawers done and now the 2 that will have to avoid the plumbing.  Then finally drawer fronts.
Don't make something every year for the kids, but some years I do.  Good not to build up their expectations - right?

@Henry  It is too late my kids expect it now.  Some years it is small things I turn, other years it is the chip and dip trays.   Next year I might just hand them a few pieces of wood and say here ya go.
