I am getting ready to install the wood counter top on what we are calling a coffee bar. The size of the top is 62 x 26 x 1 1/2 inches glued up maple 62 x 4 x 1 1/2 . The cabinet is made of 3/4 inch maple ply if that matters.
Normally I use caulk to install a counter top. I was about to do the same thing, then figured I better ask. Should I use screws from the bottom with elongated holes? Or caulk?
I will most likely be installing this tomorrow.

Caulk (silicone) will do. Ours have been down for about fifteen years.

Doing well. Staying busy.
Starting "Leaf Season" so cleaning up after the 40+ Oak and Maple trees is going to keep me busy for a while. Glad I have the Kubota BX and the DR vac trailer, for sure.

#5I have a BX and a Cyclone Rake for my 10 or so Oaks and another 15 or so other trees. They make the work easier. Have a good one.

#6I would attach a cleat to the wall on the left side and then use silicone on the cleat and also on the cabinet top.

#7@rlipeles. That is the plan. A small fridge will be in that spot. I hope to have it installed this afternoon along with the plumbing. I still have a hole to drill for the faucet, level and square it then install the wall cleats.

#8Don't forget a bead of silicone to seal the wall joint. Bead goes on the wood slab so it fills any gap in the rock. A top bead won't do so well damhikt

I did apply caulk to the wall also. The backsplash will be tongue and grove to the bottom of the upper cabinets. I will be installing a small piece of trim from the top to the back splash.
