I did a test fit of the doors on the cabinet. This got me to thinking I might have to make a relief cut along the backside of the hinge side of the doors, so they clear the face frame.
Do I have to make a relief cut?
Do I have to make a relief cut on the opening side, so they clear each other when opening?

More details would help. What type of hinges are you using? Butt hinges? Kitchen cabinet type hinges? The latter push the door out away from the frame when open, the former simply have a pivot point and do not move the door away (much - depends on the width of leaf and how far these are inset relative to the frame).

#3I am using the Blumotion 1/2 inch overlay soft close hinges. The cabinet is face frame style.

Ditto Henry's answer regarding the hinges pushing the door away (therefore no relief needed). I suggest sizing the doors to have a 1/8" gap around them, and then you won't have to worry about two adjacent doors clearing each other.

#5Thanks. I am making the drawers over the next few days, and should be installing everything by the weekend I hope. I will gap the doors about an 1/8 inch each at that time.

Give us a picture of the hinge. I have no idea what they are. Most modern hinges do come with a simple installation diagram and required centers, set back etc. If it's a European style 32mm thing you will have to block the back of the frame. Thats okay, it will make it stiffer.

#7@Maurice. Yes they are the 32mm Euro hinge. The face frame is 3/4 inch thick, so the hinge mounts on it. I will get some more pictures after the rest of the hardware shows up.

THIS is what Taylor Swift would do. Firmly mounted on a stiff wooden block.
If your not sure Mike, do what we all do. Find a bit of scrap, drill the 32mm hole and mount the hinge. Then check how it sets up.
They usually have some adjustment but you want to avoid using those until after the door is mounted. Even use a fake ply door to make sure. Don't be ashamed to do it. I never trust hinge geometry until I've tested one. If this is your first time you want to cover your butt.
