Nobody wants to talk anymore.

An old friend of mine was telling me how he and the boys went on a night out and placed bets on whose pick up lines were the most effective. The results were both hilarious and just plain daft because the whole concept of pick up lines is totally bogus.
Because my friend has no trouble whatsoever seducing women he just gets right to the point.
This is the difference between competence and wishful thinking plus desperation.
It applies to anything you do.
Every woman knows this. You either impress her with competence or discourage her with your lack of it.
A conversation is no different. Forget the pick up lines and empty boasting. Never works.
Talk about what you know, take an interest in what the other person knows. Easy.
Nobody on this forum wants to talk  !
Here I am punting conversation starters in the hope of having a fun chat and zero engagement except from the guy who can get my arse banned ! 😀
Get in my face, call me a total ass. Let's duke it out have fun with it.
We don't have to agree. That's to easy and it's boring. There is no one right way.
That's the cool thing about genuine competence. You take the fundamentals and build your own style using them.

I once told an apprentice that in his case his fear of girls and failing to score a date was crippling him. So I took him to a strip joint to overcome his embarrassment in front of and fear of girls. It worked.

Bullshit doesn't fix fear. Every woman knows this. Courage does.
Courage comes from competence. Simple.
When you overcome fear you relax. This impresses women. A lot.
This logic affects your woodwork too.
A good craftsman doesn't use force, he uses focused precision and relaxed posture.
Wood is like a woman. You must know her and respect her nature. If you use aggression and tension you will exhaust yourself trying to hard. Relax.
Anger is self destructive. It's really self contempt. Let it go and the answers will come.
