A British French polisher moves to Australia and gets a job in a woodshop. He keeps his head down and ignores the constant ribbing about getting thrashed in the ashes series.
But one day at tea break he makes the fatal error of blowing his own trumpet by saying
" you put it on my bench and I can polish it".
Aussies have a hair trigger about " getting tickets on yerself "
The next morning he finds a massive turd in the middle of his bench. The boys are all standing around wetting themselves laughing. There is a note by the turd that says " Polish this one ya Pommie bastard !"
Unflustered the polisher grabs his largest paint scraper, scoops up the job and takes it outside while everyone is clutching their stomachs in agony.
He finds a high brick wall and gently places the turd on top to dry out.
A few weeks later he has found out who dumped on his bench. So he leaves on the offender's bench, a turd, perfectly preserved and cast in epoxy resin and polished to perfection. The note said very simply.
No job to big or small. But beware, shit sticks.
When the prankster went to pick it off his bench he found it firmly glued to the surface.
Took him three humiliating hours to remove it. And once he ground through the epoxy it stank to high heaven.

The moral of this story. If you choose to sling it, don't be surprised if it comes back to haunt you.
Yes, I've eaten crow too. I've been taken down a peg or two. But if you can laugh at your foolishness and forgive it in others it makes the day go a lot quicker.
A happy shop is a productive shop. I miss those day's. I miss the pranks, the jokes, the cock up's and the madness.
Warts and all.
