I'd love to know where he found the time to build it. He probably scrounged the ebony from off cuts and left overs. He was a piano maker/ technician I think. Probably did a lot of sub work for pipe organ builders. That was not at all unusual. Then or now.
I've been through the non Masonic version of their initiations. It certainly opens your eyes but there's a right way and wrong way of going about it.
Musical instrument making exposes you to some very interesting phenomena.
But let's not talk about my superpowers.
