Hello all- I've been absent from Wood Central, as well as my own shop, for several years now. Just exploring the new forums here is going to take some time, but maybe some of you will remember me of old. Now 74 and limited to time at the lathe, but I look around at all the exotic and domestic woods piled in my rafters and shelves and tables and bins, and hope I can make a good dent in it all. Re-learned: I love the smell of Amboyna Burl on the lathe! Starting small....
Thank you Mark Mandell. As I explore here, I believe I'm finding no new topics since July of '23? That can't be right! I haven't done any turning (until pens recently for gifts) for too many years, but the last thing I did was a 'Bead Box' for awards in a chidren's cancer ward, done as a challenge for a Facebook woodturning group. As I complete more things, I'll add here, but I'm currently trying to build up an inventory of pens for Christmas and birthday gift giving. Wood Central certainly looks different! It's going to take some getting used to. Thanks for commenting!

Oh wait, now my screen brings up a list of active topics in 2024. OKay, I'll keep searching through here.
Welcome back, Barb! Good to know that some of the people who were here when I first found WC are still around. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Well now. Good to hear from you, Barb. It has been a long time.
WoodCentral went through a total remake a year or so ago -- thanks to our magician administrator, Peter Martin, who saved us after our dear old messageboard software became officially obsolete.
Candy and I think of you every time we drive across Washington. If there's a next time, maybe we can stop by for a visit. I'm glad to see you're still making sawdust.
@Ellis Walentine, Hi Ellis. I'd love to 'host' you. Your new format is a bit challenging, but I'll get used to it. I had actually considered selling off my shop, but am glad now that I didn't. It still, after years away from it, feels like 'home.' I hope you're making sawdust too! Hello to Candy.
