The following is from Reddit. I thought this might be interesting to get opinions on--both to spur some forum activity and because I'm personally interested in this. I'm not a woodworker, but I do occasionally make things like this for the garage where the #1 objective is structural integrity and not aesthetics. And I'm not versed in how to calculate tension and compression loads, and usually second-guess myself on how to do the joinery.
As a novice, my first thoughts are that maybe some cross-braces would be in order, but then after considering it will be skinned in 1/2" plywood, that may not be necessary. And that if any consideration had been given to the floor; i.e., if joists, would they carry a 3200-lb load on that footprint?
So what do you think? Anything you would do differently?

Will this hold a 300 gallon aquarium on the top, with a 125 gallon sump underneath? Estimated weight is 3400 lbs. The 2x4s are all notched, and sistered together with wood glue and screws (stronger than a 4x4). We’re going to skin it with 1/2 plywood tomorrow for additional strength.
