Best Glue for Cutting Boards

I second Jim's recommendations. Cascamite is a good brand of powdered plastic resin, aka urea formaldehyde. It's what wood countertop manufacturers use but it's also a little tricky to mix to the right consistency and breathing the powdered glue is dangerous.

About five years ago I made a cutting board for myself and used up some perfectly good epoxy that was being thrown out at the shop where I worked. Within a week of use the ends of the joints were loosening up. I milled down the maple pieces and used Titebond III instead and the board has been fine.

The Cascamite type adhesive produces a stronger bond but joint strength itself isn't the most important factor in cutting boards, it's how the joint behaves with intermittent wetting.

I second Titebond III or urea-formaldehide. UF glue is strong, creep-resistant and waterproof, but it does have a dark red color that may be visible, particularly if your glue lines aren't really tight.
