The truck bed appears to be 40' x 9' for a cylindrical volume of 2545 cubic feet. I don't know what kind of log that is, but it sure looks heavy. Mahogany has a density of 35 to 40 pounds per cubic foot, so using an average of 37 means it weighs about 94,000 pounds. Sound reasonable, or did I screw up my calculations? The smokin' hawt girl at the beginning of the video got me flustered.

#5Very interesting video on the tree. It reminds me of an article in Fine Woodworking, many years ago, on the removal of an 11 foot diameter felled African mahogany tree. The tree had been felled many years before and was just sitting there because it was too heavy to move. Someone creative decided that if it was halved, front to back, the 2 sections would be manageable and could be moved.
