Update

I posted before about a double knot log section as well as bugs drilling 15/64" holes.
 Notwithstanding my initial view to consign it to the fireplace, I gave it a shot.

16x7 Red Maple. The heartwood core was actually quite dark, hence to darker cap that was turned from a section parted off the log during the initial shaping of the jar.
