As of last Monday 2/12/2024 Rev-A-Shelf took over ownership of the company I have worked for 10 years, Omega National Products. All employees were promised a job offer with pay remaining the same for the next 90 days. Rev-A-Shelf is going to focus mainly on our range hood line and plans on doubling production over the next few years. Other product lines may be moved to Mexico or overseas. I have been working on the range hood line the last couple years in the base department. I consider myself paid fairly currently, I like my job and am thrilled to work for Rev-A-Shelf. A big company with big goals. I have used Rev-A-Shelf products sine they first started production and consider them a top notch company.
I have been a woodworker since graduating high school in 1986. I wanted to be a woodworker ever since 7th grade shop class with Mr Kratzer. Wood is warm to the touch; steel and plastic are cold. I can take a piece of wood and make it do whatever I want. Ialways wanted to be a woodworker and now I are one.
First thing they did is install a new automated time clock system with an app that shows our hours. We can download our pay on a daily basis with the app. Setting outside the building right now in crates is a new dust collection system. Our supervisor came around today asking how many sanding tables we wanted. I think they cost around $1500 per table, with holes in the top and an interior blower that sucks the surrounding air inside and filters it. In the past when we asked for a waste basket we couldn't get one. We had an air blower in our department that had broken and somebody patched it back together with epoxy, it was still leaking a lot of air. Today I threw it in the trash. Our maintenance guy had been keeping track of how many sanding pads we used on our sanders, on an individual basis. I think he would file complaints with the managers if he thought we used too many. I purchased and am using my own Dynabrade sander at work so that nobody can take it; they did not have enough for everybody that needed one to have one. I expect all of that to change for the better.
