I used to visit Woodcentral on a regular basis. I spent so much time on wood working forums I had to go cold turkey and stop. I use to visit once in a while. This time I could not log in because I was not a frequent flyer and was dropped from the active list. It may appear that I am a new member. If old timers see my post rest assured I am the same Dave Smith from Longview, WA that used to haunt Woodcentral long before the Katrina auction in 2005.
We sold our house along with my wood shop. We are now homeless. We live full time in a 34 foot fifth wheel RV. We spend the winter at Mesa Spirit RV Resort in Mesa, AZ. There is a wood shop where I mostly turn. I spend a lot of time teaching new turners.

@David Smith,
Welcome back. I assume this is you?

Here are instructions on how to reset the password for the above account.

It is important that the email address you enter matches that of the existing account. In this case, it is ******@woodnheart.com. If you no longer have access to the account, either use the forum private message system or email me using the Contact Us link. (This is the part that confused a lot of people, as the email addresses we imported from the old forum system had old email addresses readers had not had access to in years.)
Once this is done, I can change any posts you made as David Smith to the Dave Smith account.

@David Smith,
Thanks for checking in, Dave. Peter (@admin) will get your identity straightened out toot quick. Meanwhile, are you still drying turning blanks in alcohol? Any updates to the process you'd like to share?
I really miss the picnics. It would be good to see everyone face to face again.
Don't be a stranger.

Re: Back again
#5Ellis,
We had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people at those wood worker BBQs. At one gathering a guy introduced a forum member to his wife as his best friend that he never met. Many frendships have been fostered through Woodcentral and other great forums. Thanks Ellis.
I have not turned green wood in many years so I have not had an occasion to dry bowls with alcohol.

Dave Smith, I remember you from Badger Pond. You were at my house once. We need to do a get together this summer for the Wood Central crowd but where?
