Dust collectors

Edited #1

Is the typical home shop user likely to notice any performance difference in these 2 machines? I have the Laguna. A friend wants to buy a collector for his son in law and is seeking advice. I bought mine used years ago which is why I have the Laguna. My advice to him was to get a cyclone whatever the brand.

I strongly recommend  the Bill Penz Clear-Vue machines.

I installed when I built my new (dream) shop.  6" pvc system that will fully pressurize 80' of ducting and  will cover 3 tools (jointer, planer, etc ) at the same time.  Quieter than the metal cyclones and just as strong.
