I measured once then did it again to make sure. I marked the line square off the front of the base cabinet. I glue the board and install it right along the mark clamp it and move on to the next. I get the four boards installed in the base cabinet, square and level. I walk away and start to assemble the drawer.
I walk over to the to install the drawer slides when I realize I should have placed the boards above the line not below them. Oh well lessoned learned hopefully not forgotten.
I hate when I do stuff like this.

Re: Measure once Measure Twice
#2I think your action was sound justification for the installation, in a standard case of drawers that is.
(I just realized you could be building anything with drawers, and don't need to cope with off-dimension sticks associated with hand work, ie. where the drawer rests is the critical alignment.)

#3Nope a standard base cabinet. I was installing 1/2 ply to put the slides on, so they can go past the face frame. I haven't installed the face frame yet. I want to paint it first then install it.
I marked the top of the rail, and put the face frame down out of my way. I am practicing how to assemble them. I figure when I start making all the ones I need for my kitchen I will have all my mistakes made already, and nothing else will go wrong(-;
