This post is a partial response to Ellis's post Re "Suggestions." I don't have much to offer in suggestions on how to get people back here to WC that have "disappeared" . As a long time member here I in fact seem to be someone who has "disappeared." My lack of posting is mostly due to personal circumstances. Oddly enough because I am now "retired" from My Day job I have much more time to spend in my shop. But I'm not spending the time documenting my projects. Here is an example. This is a thrift shop project. We bought this piece more than ten years ago-This piece was dark wood toned brown with the top cabinet having three framed pieces. The left and right pieces were fixed in the case while the centerpiece was a door. All of these sections were "glass inside wood frames". I suspect the original design was to house dishes in the upper sections and linens and silverware in the lower section. We used the lower case in our house for many years to store VHS Tapes and DVD's. I had the upper case in my shop collecting dust for many years. In the last month or two I spent time sanding down both cases and painting them. I removed the three front panels from the top and made the three current shelves as seen in the pictures. I didn't take ANY pictures of the rebuild process so you can use your imagination as to what the original piece looked like. Suffice it to say Mrs. Young is very happy with the final result and therefore so is Mr. Young.
